Royal University of Dhaka was established with the mission to disseminate quality education at the University level to our students. RUD is located at a very convenient central location (Road No. 10, Block. E, Banani, Dhaka-1213) of Dhaka city and possesses a beautiful campus with large class rooms, library and laboratory facilities.

A famous Philanthropist and Social Worker, Dr. Momtaz Begum is its Chairman. Dr. H.B.M. Iqbal, a leading businessman and Chairman of Premier Bank, is its Vice Chairman. On proposing to establish the university, the UGC (University Grants Commission) evaluated and recommended it on 30 July, 2003 and the Ministry of Education, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, accorded its approval on August 30, 2003 under the Private University Act, 1992. The University started functioning in 2004 and till date offered degrees to a large number of students.

Courses are regularly administered by qualified and experienced teachers with international education base. Tution Fees are very competitive with provisions of generous tution fee waivers based on merit as well as financial needs of students.

At RUD, we are aware of the challenges of 21st century faced by the young university graduates, and hence we shape our programs and carry them on through excellence of teaching and research. The academic curricula of our programs are designed to enhance the student’s knowledge and develop practical skills, Thus upon graduation from RUD, they are adeqautely prepared to integrate their education and skills into the job market.

A very prominent educationist and senior professor Dr. Golam Mohammad, has joined this university as its Vice Chancellor. Some senior teachers holding foreign degree are assisting him in running the daily affairs of the university.
