A day-long CSE Festival was held successfully at Royal University of Dhaka, featuring seminars, discussion sessions, workshops, content designing activities, various competitions and a raffle draw. The festival witnessed enthusiastic and spontaneous participation from students throughout the day.
In the first session, the chief guest was Ekushey Padak–winning eminent educationist, University of Dhaka professor and political adviser to the BNP Chairperson, Dr Sukomal Barua. He expressed his admiration for the creative initiatives of the students of Royal University of Dhaka. He highly praised the contribution of valiant freedom fighter Dr H B M Iqbal for establishing a non-profit university in the heart of Dhaka. Dr Barua expressed hope that a convocation would be held soon under the leadership of the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor, which would inspire and energise students. He also assured all possible cooperation and urged students to focus on science-based thinking and creative research to cope with the demands of the modern era.
 
The programme was presided over by the Acting Vice-Chancellor of Royal University of Dhaka, Professor Dr Mohammad Rafiqul Islam. University Adviser and Fulbright Scholar Dr Emadul Islam attended the event as Guest of Honour. Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Professor Dr Dipu Siddiqui and Registrar incharge Md Mashiur Rahman were present as special guests. Among others, Associate Professor Murad Hasan, Chairperson of the Department of Business Administration, and Assistant Professor Md Aminul Ashraf, Chairperson of the Department of Hotel management and Tourism, addressed the session. The welcome address was delivered by Sharmin Sultana, Coordinator of the CSE Department.
 
RUD Adviser Dr Emadul Islam announced that the convocation of Royal University of Dhaka would be held very soon. He said that all possible support would be extended to develop the university as an institution of international standard. He also called upon students to remain devoted to their studies, engage in research and prepare themselves for future employment opportunities.
Dean Professor Dr Dipu Siddiqui thanked the concerned authorities for successfully organising the CSE Festival for the first time and expressed optimism that students of Royal University of Dhaka would soon prove their competence in the global job market.
 
In his presidential speech, Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Rafiqul Islam described Royal University of Dhaka as an emerging university. He said the institution is enriched with talented teachers and energetic young academics and expressed hope that, through collective efforts of teachers, officers and staff, the university would soon transform into a creative and research-oriented centre of higher education.
 
In the afternoon session, Professor Sadik Iqbal, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Bangladesh University, attended as chief guest. Software engineer A K Khan Simanta, currently working in Germany, delivered the keynote speech. Motivational speaker Md Abdullah Al Nasim, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Pioneer Alpha, also addressed the session. Popular content creator and technology reviewer Samzone attended the programme as a special attraction, generating great enthusiasm among participants.
 
Three workshops were organised as part of the festival to enhance students’ practical skills. An IELTS workshop was conducted by Yasmin Sultana, Lecturer of the English Department. A physical education workshop was conducted by Assistant Professor Md Aminul Ashraf. An artificial intelligence workshop was conducted by Md Ayub Ali, Research Assistant at the University of Queensland, Australia.
The festival also featured four competitions—programming, poster design, gaming and quiz competitions. A raffle draw was held at the closing session of the event.
