Royal University of Dhaka has celebrated the 55th Victory Day
Royal University of Dhaka has celebrated the 55th Victory Day with due dignity and a festive atmosphere. On Monday morning, the university’s Vice-Chancellor (Acting), Professor Dr. Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, inaugurated the day’s proceedings by hoisting the national flag and leading the rendition of the national anthem.
Speaking as the Chief Guest at the discussion meeting organized for the occasion, Professor Dr. Rafiqul Islam highlighted the significance of the sacrifice, unity, and independence of the Liberation War. He called upon the new generation to come forward in building the country and society. Earlier, the program commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran and readings from other holy scriptures.
Professor Dr. Dipu Siddiqui, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and Controller of Examinations (Acting), Acting Registrar Md. Moshiur Rahman, Associate Professor Murad Hasan, Assistant Professor Md. Solaiman Hossain and assistant professor Aminul Asraf also spoke at the event. The speakers emphasized the importance of preserving the true history of the Liberation War and establishing democratic values.
In the cultural segment, Professor Dr. Dipu Siddiqui recited a self-composed poem, urging students to be inspired by the spirit of patriotism. Additionally, the teachers and officials of the university performed a group song. A special attraction of the event was the staging of a Liberation War-themed drama titled “Amar Ahongkar” (My Pride), directed by Aminul Ashraf. Through this event, the university expressed its commitment to instilling the spirit of the Liberation War and patriotism among the students. The program was moderated by lecturer of the department of English Ms Nipu.
