The Royal University of Dhaka (RUD), a prominent educational institution under the Premier Group, paid its deep respects to the memory of the late former three-time Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Begum Khaleda Zia.

As part of the nationwide mourning following her passing, the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Dr. Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, and the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Professor Dr. Dipu Siddiqui, officially signed the condolence book on behalf of the university community.
The signing ceremony took place at the designated venue where the condolence book was opened to honor the legacy of the late leader. While signing, the university leadership highlighted her significant contributions to the restoration of parliamentary democracy in Bangladesh and her role as the country’s first female Prime Minister.
In a brief statement following the signing, the Acting Vice-Chancellor said that “Begum Khaleda Zia’s life was a testament to uncompromising leadership and dedication to the welfare of the people. Her passing marks the end of an era in our national history.”
The university authorities offered special prayers for the eternal peace of the departed soul and extended their heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family members and her millions of followers across the country. High-ranking officials, faculty heads, and staff members of the Royal University of Dhaka were also present to pay their respects.
